About
I have been fascinated by the voice since the beginning of my acting training in 2003. It wasn’t until I met and studied with Kristin Linklater while doing my MFA at Columbia University that I actually understood it. With Kristin’s approach, I found freedom and richness in my voice, and I was liberated from constant vocal strain. I learned how to use my voice to reveal my inner life rather than to merely describe it. My voice and my imagination opened up and with them so did the the characters I worked on; they became more detailed, alive, and human as I learned how my voice connected to my emotional and psychological life. I discovered how to use voice work to enrich my acting and vice versa understanding the connection of my voice to my emotions and psyche served my acting. I now teach the Linklater Technique to actors, speakers, and anyone interested in learning how to communicate with authenticity.
